Compare the windows included in the service
For a window-cleaning quotation in Cyprus, the first comparison is the accepted surface list. A price for windows may describe glass only, one side of an opening or a wider service including particular frames and other identified items. Ask each provider to state its actual scope before comparing totals. A lower price can be reasonable when it buys a different service, but that difference should remain visible.
Prepare one current property brief for the providers you approach. Label openings and explain whether the enquiry is for an ordinary recurring clean, a defined one-off appointment or a condition following other property work. The provider must assess what it can accept. Do not turn unidentified residue or an unresolved material concern into a general instruction to remove everything from every surface.
A small opening schedule exposes large quote differences
Consider an illustrative property with six labelled openings, W1 to W6. The household wants to discuss both sides of the accessible glass and asks about the surrounding frames. Provider A quotes an accepted glass-cleaning service for W1 to W6. Provider B includes specified frame work but excludes W6 pending an access assessment. Neither total alone explains which offer better meets the owner's intended task.
Reconcile the opening list first. Ask A what frame work it accepts, and ask B what is needed to resolve W6. Do not add an invented allowance to either offer yourself. The providers should describe and price their actual proposed service. The owner can then compare the accepted result rather than a pair of totals based on different property assumptions.
Reconcile W6 and the frame work before comparing totals
The fictional six-opening enquiry can be written as a short comparison. A blank answer stays unresolved rather than becoming an invented inclusion.
| Surface group | Offer A | Offer B |
|---|---|---|
| W1 to W5 glass | Accepted sides listed | Accepted sides listed |
| W6 glass | Included | Access decision pending |
| Frames | Not included | Defined frame task |
| Screens | Not quoted | Not quoted |
To obtain equivalent proposals, ask A for the selected frame task and B for its W6 assessment. If W6 remains outside B, keep its separate resolution visible rather than dividing B's total by six. Screens remain a separate enquiry in both offers. This worksheet identifies two different missing decisions; a general message asking each business for its best price would not resolve either one.
Define each surface in ordinary language
Ask the provider to identify which sides of the glass are included and which surrounding items it has accepted. Frames, sills, tracks, screens and other fittings should not be silently combined into one undefined window-cleaning label. The actual quotation should explain the relevant tasks for the selected openings.
If the owner has product care information, give the provider the references it requests. Let it decide whether that affects the service it accepts. This guide does not prescribe a cleaning method or assess materials. Keep a specialist surface or condition question with the appropriate provider rather than asking a generic appointment to guarantee every possible finish.
Keep access assessment with the provider
Describe the practical location of the openings and provide information requested from an ordinary safe position. Do not climb, remove a high screen or alter equipment to prepare an online quote. Ask the cleaning provider how it will assess the actual access and what work it can accept at that property.
If an opening requires another agreed arrangement, record it as a separate scope item. An exclusion pending assessment is different from a completed offer for every window. Ask who accepts the next step and how the price will be confirmed. Avoid treating a ground-level service quote as a universal rate for all openings regardless of their actual location.
Compare one-off and recurring offers on the same period
A recurring service may quote a visit price while a one-off offer states the whole appointment total. Ask what the recurring arrangement commits the owner to and which visits and tasks it covers. Do not multiply a headline price through an assumed year when the offered number or timing of visits is different.
For an illustrative comparison, if one proposal lists four accepted visits and another lists six, start with those actual visit counts. Then compare the surface scope and appointment conditions within each. More visits do not automatically establish a better service for the household. The useful question is which accepted arrangement meets the owner's actual task and availability.
Distinguish after-work cleaning from ordinary maintenance
If the windows are being addressed after a refurbishment, state that condition before the provider quotes. Ask what it needs to assess and which tasks it accepts. Do not assume an ordinary maintenance-cleaning price includes a different post-work condition or work to unidentified residue. Keep the builder's remaining tasks and any product issue separate from the cleaning service.
Renovate.cy provides a useful starting point when another defined property-work task remains. Share the cleaning provider's actual finding and the relevant opening reference. A coordinated enquiry can resolve the work sequence without treating cleaning as a substitute for unfinished installation or an unassessed surface repair.
Ask what the household must have ready
Request the accepted access, preparation and contact arrangements. Ask who moves nearby items and whether the owner needs to be present for any defined stage. A service quotation should not silently assume that the cleaner will move every room's contents or handle valuable household objects without an agreed scope.
Also ask how a changed property condition or appointment difficulty is handled. The owner should understand the process for a revised scope or another visit before the booking. That clarity is more useful than a broad instruction to do whatever is possible when the accepted opening list and property conditions are no longer the same.
Review completion against the same opening list
At handover, use W1 to W6 and the accepted surface tasks. Record any item still open and the provider's actual next step. Distinguish an uncompleted cleaning task from a separate product or installation concern requiring assessment. The completed review should reflect the service that was accepted rather than an unlimited expectation attached to the word clean.
Businesses.cy offers a useful starting point for a defined property-service enquiry. Give a prospective provider the same current opening schedule so its proposal begins with an understandable task. The European Commission's consumer contract information provides general purchasing context about service characteristics, prices and arrangements. It does not assess a window. A fair quote comparison keeps the openings, surfaces, access, visit period and appointment conditions visible from the first enquiry through completion.
